Wine Brand Ambassador (Part-time / Contract)

Share your love of wine with others at retail store and event tastings while earning money and expanding your knowledge of wine. You do not need to be a wine expert, but you should have an interest in wine and a willingness to learn more. Enjoyment in engaging and interacting with people is essential.

Responsibilities: 

  • Represent Highland Wine Merchants’ quality wines to consumers in New Hampshire
  • Conduct wine tasting events utilizing provided wine samples to promote wine sales in retail locations
  • Actively engage customers to generate interest in sampling products
  • Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, and availability
  • Demonstrate competent sales abilities through successful presentation and promotion of products

Qualifications: 

  • Must be 21 or over
  • Comfort with conducting Adult Beverage (alcohol) demonstrations
  • Interest in wine, including grapes, regions, and wine/food pairings
  • Interact in a friendly, enthusiastic, energetic and outgoing manner with management, clients, and consumers
  • Experience in event marketing, product demonstrations, sales, and/or brand promotion desireable
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand comfortably for up to 6 hours a day
  • Able to work independently and as a motivated team player
  • Available to work a part-time schedule, typically for 2 or 3-hour afternoon and evening tastings on Thursdays, Fridays, and/or Saturdays
  • Previous experience as a server, bartender, or other alcohol related professional is a plus
  • Must have own transportation to events
  • Daily access to a computer with internet/email access

Sales Representative

We are currently seeking a qualified, self-motivated, and experienced wine sales representative. We are looking for a passionate and motivated person who wants to combine their passion for wine and the art of selling into a career building a growing company. The opportunity exists for this position to grow to overall manager of sales for the company.

Responsibilities: 

  • Represent Highland Wine Merchants’ portfolio of quality wines to on-premise and off -premise accounts
  • Develop and enhance customer relationships
  • Open new accounts and continually service, manage, and grow those accounts
  • Organize and conduct wine tastings, dinners, and events for trade and consumers
  • Evaluate customer needs and make recommendations to management for future product line enhancements
  • Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, to create sell sheets and presentations
  • Stock shelves and storage areas

Qualifications: 

  • Experience in wine sales or wine-related industry
  • Self-motivated, independent thinker with a high standard of success
  • Ability to prioritize your time and approach individual accounts with an appropriate wine selection
  • Well-rounded knowledge of fine wines, customer relationship building, technology, and sales writing
  • Existing accounts are a plus
  • Experience working with NH State Liquor Commission and store is a plus
  • Able to work independently and as a motivated team player
  • Able to work nights and weekends when needed
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must have own car and clean driving record
  • Must be 21 or older
